Solar Energy16 Jun 2009 09:00 am

Website: http://aessolarenergy.com/blog/index.php/c2/colorado-s-solar…

It is a unique time for the solar industry here in Colorado. The utility rebates offered by Xcel, Black Hills, and other local energy companies remain among the best in the nation. All the while, the price of solar modules has drastically dropped - due to a large surplus from lower demand in the European markets.

The last time we had news that favored the solar energy consumer here in Colorado was October of last year. That was when it was announced that the Federal Tax Credit for solar energy had been increased to 30% with no cap on the amount you could be credited. This resulted in Xcel suddenly announcing that they were reducing their solar rebate from $4.50 to $3.50 per watt, a reduction of 22%. Xcel Energy reserves the right the reduce the amount of the rebate at ANY time.

With these lower materials cost and fierce cost competition in the local solar industry, solar energy is the cheapest it has ever been here in Colorado - even with the rebate at $3.50 per watt. Due to this…

Body weight exercises are exercises used to develop strength and endurance that do not require the use of free weights or exercise machines: the practitioner’s own weight provides the resistance for the movement. Perfect for traveling, living room or backyard workouts or adding a bit of variety to your regular exercise routine. Most body weight exercises are designed to build and tone muscle, however, when used in conjunction with aerobic activities, can also help you lose weight quickly. Studies indicate that those following a strength training program for two months will, on average,  burn about 200 calories more per workout than those whose regimen did not include strength training.

This is sometimes a major consideration for women, who have the (mostly irrational) fear that strength training will make them “bulk up”.

In reality, a body weight exercise routine has many benefits (for both men and women), among them:

  • increases endurance and flexibility
  • protects joints…

A recent comment prompted me to write this article.

William Smith asked: Apart from Aspartame, will you provide information on some other harmful chemicals?

My answer: Yes!  So let’s create a list of Food Additives that you will find in your everyday foods that can damage your body.

Surprisingly enough (or not), you will find that most of these food additives are not approved for use in other countries.

However, in the US we have the all-knowing FDA.  They must have our best interest at heart, right?

Wrong!

Just another example of the waste in Washington.  An agency created to protect the people that gets sucked up into the money and politics.  I will leave it at that because this could get into a long discussion about big government.

Make sure you take this list with you next time you go to the grocery store .

Try to avoid anything on it.

I mean, just the sound of some of these should make you think twice.  I think that mixing these all together in food and consuming them is…

3613749047 da07117f58 A Poem For My Wife

I am yours, you make me strong

You give me life, without you my soul is lost

This bond is not to be broken

Bonds like this are meant for eternity

This is something only heaven could have created

My heart beats for you, My heart aches for you, My Heart melts for you

Our hearts together beating as one

It is you Krystle that makes me whole

I thank you for being there, through it all

The good, the bad and the ugly

That is real love, that is true love and that is love beyond measure

Strangers we once were

Together forever we now will be

As waves crash, As rain falls, As thunder strikes, As wind blows, As the world turns

Forever in my heart you will stay

Until our final days

I love you so much

My Wife, My Friend, My Everything

This is to you! ;-)

Love Always and Forever,
Brian

aspartame structure Aspartame a Danger to your Health and Fitness

What is Aspartame?

Aspartame is that hidden little chemical inside those cans of pop, packs of gum and many other artificial sweetener products. What is it and why is it there? It sounds like a chemical I might have used in chemistry class. Is it safe for human consumption? My answer is NO!

What effect does it have on your body and how does it affect your natural fitness?

How was this drug approved?

First things first. How did this drug get into the system? At the time in the late 70’s and early 80’s the FDA commissioner (Dr. Gere Goyan) of the time would not approve it safe for human consumption. Dr. Vernon Young from MIT was on the board at the time who was in charge of determining its safety. The board determined it was not safe and needed more study. However, in 1981 when Regan was elected the FDA commissioner (Dr. Gere Goyan) who was holding up aspartame and not allowing it into market was kicked out and replaced with someone who would. This was pushed along by…

This is a truly inspiring video that I would just like to share with everyone.  This goes to show the current problems with our medical community.  They no longer practice real health care but only sick care.  They maintain what I call a revolving door policy.  Get you in and keep you coming back depending on them for life.  Just in my local community the hospital has quadrupled in size.  We also have developed the need for a pharmacy every five to ten feet.  Someone has got to see a problem here.  However, I am afraid they continue on with their daily life not worrying until they are the victim.  At that point, they no longer worry and it is just a matter of survival.

Some months back I started working at a club, The Mumbai Cricket Association Recreation Centre (we Indians are a bit heavy on cricket), nice place, good sports facilities, gym, pool, restaurants, bar etc.  The place is good, working here is enjoyable and I am  able to do things I enjoy.  Here the relevance of your philosophy is starkly visible, if fitness is the aim then expensive gyms are not the answer.  Generally speaking, the scale of fitness is inversely proportional to the cost of the equipment in use.  We have the most expensive equipment, and barring a few exceptions, the most unfit members.  Fitness is the way the body functions under varying conditions.  The bodies I have the pleasure of seeing, just don’t function.

When we were kids we played a game Jhad Bandar, Jhad means tree and Bandar means monkey, so the game was monkeys on trees.  We would climb trees and there was a den who had to catch us, today we have no trees and kids are too busy watching TV or killing…
