The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) has partnered with Canada’s Polar Cap Production’s, Inc. to present Mark Terry’s new climate change documentary The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning in Copenhagen during this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference, December 7 to 18, 2009.

This week marked a ground-breaking agreement between eight leading U.S. air carriers, as outlined by the Air Transport Association of America (ATA). According to the Association, beginning in 2012, these eight will purchase nearly 1.5 million gallons of renewable synthetic diesel fuel for use in ground service equipment and vehicles at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

How many of you have walkways, pavers, or driveways in which weeds are sticking out between the cracks?  With August upon us, the weeds, especially crabgrass, are flourishing.  Am I  the only one who gets tired of yanking out weeds?

Long ago, I would have run to the store and grabbed a bottle of Roundup® and blasted them “straight to the moon” as Ralph Kramden would say to Alice  of The Honeymooners fame.  Round-up is your weeds worse enemy.  According to a recent article in the Environmental Heath News,

“Used in yards, farms and parks throughout the world, Roundup has long been a top-selling weed killer. But now researchers have found that one of Roundup’s inert ingredients can kill human cells, particularly embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells.
