I just received an email from Sue of the New Jersey Coalition for  Vaccine Choice regarding the possible fluoridation mandate of our New Jersey’s  public water.  Right now, New Jersey lawmakers are deciding the fate of our water system.  Sue is very credible so when she sends out an alert like this, I listen.  I agree with NJCVC’s  stance that   fluoride is toxic and should not be added to our water.

Even if you don’t have an opinion about fluoride, think about this.  Can NJ afford to  spend $5.4 billion dollars in start-up costs when the state is broke?  We have more serious problems in NJ then to be spending money on fluoride. Does the words, fiscal responsibility mean anything?

For those of you who don’t live in the NJ, according to a 2005 American Community Survey from the U.S. Census Bureau, New Jersey is rated 6th in the country for high property taxes and number 1 for percent of income taxed. (See here…

Gov. Bill Ritter announced the award of 14 New Energy Economic Development (NEED) grants to recipients across Colorado for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects that will help create and retain jobs, strengthen local economies, and save money and energy. The Colorado Governor’s Energy Office created the grants from funds available from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Astralux Power Systems was one of the 14 awarded, out of nearly 200 grant applications. Astralux received $60,000 to design and install a 20kW solar energy system for the Crouse Farm in Alamosa, Colorado.

A certified organic farm, currently producing 600 tons of alfalfa hay annually, the electricity from this system will help offset the nearly 64,000kWh of energy needed to irrigate the farm’s crops. Located in Alamosa, the Crouse Farm will provide Southern Colorado a model for the sustainable and energy efficient farm of the future. Crouse has already begun…

The previous year, 922 million international tourist arrivals were recorded, contributing $944 billion in international tourism receipts.

With such a far-reaching economic span, travel and tourism has been positioned it as a leading player in a strong, united, global effort at combating climate change. With such a huge economic “footprint”, the industry needs to proactively adopt industry-wide best practices to combat climate change.
